Jim joined the Imps in 1978 and played 9 times. That was following a career that took him to Lincoln via Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves, Manchester United, Southampton, Chicago Sting and SFK Lyn in Norway.
Returning to Britain as a Player Coach with Lincoln, he fell out with Colin Murphy and left the club after 9 appearances.
Later, Jim wrote an autobiography where according to Trevor he devoted a whole chapter to his time at Lincoln City.
