Gary notes, ” City’s visit to Goodison Park on Good Friday April 16th 1954 attracted the largest Football League crowd that the Imps have played in front of as 61231 attended.  
The City line up was Jerry Lowery; Horace Green, Don Dykes; Doug Wright, Tony Emery, Bob Owen; Jimmy Munro, John Garvie, Andy Graver, Brian Birch, Roy Finch with Garvie scoring in the 15th minute to give City a half time lead but three second half Everton goals saw them victors 3-1 as they eventually finished 2nd with City 16th.”
