On the 8 September 1990, Lincoln City played York City at Bootham Crescent in a League game.
Tragically, the York City midfielder, David Longhurst collapsed on the field and despite the heroic attempts by medical staff sadly passed away.
His family have used the C.R.Y charity to raise money for cardiomyopathy and SADs – Sudden Adult Death Syndrome and a link for this charity is here.
The cover for the programme for this abandoned game is below, kindly donated by Malcolm Johnson.
